EUROPE AND ARMENIA

Europe has considerable importance for the small Armenian republic. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Armenia has chosen to participate fully in the European community of nations. The Council of Europe, which joined in 1999, has guided it through a process of political reforms. Today, the country enjoys a privileged relationship with the European Union and sees its future inside Europe.
