Various planning data statistics for the ACT

The following sets of planning data about the ACT bring together a range of ACT, ABS and other sources of information.

The data sets

 

How the data is set up

The data is contained in Excel spreadsheets. Each spreadsheet has an index to navigate the individual sets of data, which can be referred back to via the link on the top left of the spreadsheet. Alternatively, you can navigate by clicking on the tabs located at the bottom of the spreadsheets.

Finding suburb specific data

The data is split into whole of ACT data and district-level data. If you are looking for a particular suburb, refer to the planning data districts split first.

The type of data available

The whole of ACT data set contains:

  • historical & projected population
  • projected population by age group
  • projected population as a proportion of ACT population
  • age structure
  • number of persons by family types
  • household types
  • private dwelling structure
  • dwellings & persons as a proportion of total district dwelling stock & population
  • dwelling occupancy rates
  • employment status
  • employment opportunities (working population) by location
  • relationship between employment & residence, ACT & districts
  • commercial floorspace (m2)
  • industrial floorspace (m2) by location
  • office floorspace (m2)
  • office floorspace (m2), suburbs with 50,000m2 or more
  • floorspace by suburb
  • retail, commercial & office floorspace per capita (m2)
  • land use policy area

The remaining district data sets each contain district-relevant data about:

  • historical and projected population
  • age structure
  • number of persons by family types
  • household types
  • private dwelling structure;
  • dwellings and persons as a proportion of total district dwelling stock and population
  • dwelling occupancy rates
  • employment status
  • employment opportunities (working population) by location; and
  • land use policy area.
