According to The Hollywood Reporter, the voice cast for the upcoming DreamWorks film SHREK THE THIRD will include an elite, ninja-like strike force of fairy-tale princesses voiced by Amy Sedaris as Cinderella, Amy Poehler as Snow White, Maya Rudolph as Rapunzel and Cheri Oteri as Sleeping Beauty.

Also joining the hit animated comedy's cast are Ian McShane as Captain Hook, John Krasinski as Sir Lancelot, Justin Timberlake as King Arthur, aka Artie and Monty Python veteran Eric Idle as Merlin the magician.

The newcomers will join Mike Myers (Shrek), Cameron Diaz (Princess Fiona), Eddie Murphy (Donkey) and Antonio Banderas (Puss in Boots).

Organized by Princess Fiona, the princesses' underground resistance movement fends off a coup d'etat by Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) in the land of Far, Far Away.

SHREK THE THIRD is being directed by Chris Miller, and scheduled for a May 18th, 2007 release.

Very impressive voice cast...but I'm not really sold on Justin Timberlake as King Arthur. SUPREMEONE

Well, Timberlake has been an item with Cameron Diaz for quite awhile now, so I'm guessing this is one of those casting "package deals." Kinda like the way we seem to get stuck with Freddie Prinze Jr. on half of Sarah Michelle Gellar's projects. It's good to see one Monty Python alum along for the ride. That should be a requirement for any Arthurian parody.

"Sounds fun but Timbrlake as King Arthur? With the "aka Artie" maybe he's being played for laughs." In a Shrek film? A character being played for laughs? Ya think? ;) I'd guess this is going to be young Arthur before he's his commanding self.

Half of me wants this to tank just because Timberlake is in it. The other half wants them to realize 1/2 way through that he's all wrong and cast someone else for the voice of Artie. Maybe Justin Long.

Loved the original Shrek. Thought it ended perfectly, which is why I never saw Shrek 2. Is the sequel worth it?

Impressive cast, yes, a friggin enormous cast, hell yes. By this rate Shrek 5 will have half of holleywood in it.

I personally liked the first two as a parent and a movie goer. I have faith that this will be up to par with the rest

I loved the first two Shreks. Which is wierd, because I have'nt liked any other of the Dreamworks Pikar rip-offs. I did think that the Dragon came in a little to late in the sequel. I also don't have any real problem with Timberlake. As Whatgives says, it's not as if he has a title role. I really love that Idle will be in it. They need to get Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in at some point.

I didn't like the second shrek. Not because it wasn't nearly as good as the first or that it wasn't that funny or that the jokes were mostly old, no wait, wait, those were exactly the reasons why.

jwestry, that's exactly what my wife said. It would have been cool to see what she, the dragon, not my wife, turned into.
