MANILA, Philippines - Grammy winner Nelly Furtado surprised the audience at her Manila concert last Aug. 16 when she performed the hit song "Gangnam Style" by Korean rapper Psy.

Furtado and Gym Class Heroes held the "Live in Manila" concert at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The video of Furtado singing "Gangnam Style" was posted on the singer's official website, Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Psy's "Gangnam Style" has been the talk of the media in the last few weeks and has spawned parodies.

The music video for "Gangnam Style" has raked in 42.41 million views on YouTube, and is at No. 2 on YouTube's music chart behind Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe."

"Gangnam Style" has maintained its No. 1 position for four weeks on Billboard's K-pop Hot 100 chart.

"This feat puts him one step closer to tying the record for most weeks at No. 1; a title currently owned by IU's 'You and I' with five weeks atop the chart," according to Billboard.com.

The "Gangnam Style" music video has become viral in the last few weeks and international media took notice.

Billboard.com wrote, "Notably, the music video was broadcasted on France's '7:45' program introduced as the 'addictive and comedic horseback riding dance that is dominating the world.'"

Psy is in the US for a meeting with Scooter Braun, manager of Justin Bieber reportedly for a possible collaboration.

The success of "Gangnam Style" has prompted Psy to release a second music video titled "Oppa Is Just My Style," performed by both Psy and and 4Minute member Hyuna.

Since its release last Aug. 14, "Oppa Is Just My Style" has been viewed 12.95 million times on YouTube.

"Psy set up a live performance in the streets of Gangnam creating a truly unforgettable performance. One can get a sense of how popular the song is with fans shouting along to the lyrics and screaming when Psy breaks out his the now-signature horseback riding move. The performance is all the more remarkable when you take into account how many fans were in attendance despite rain and the fact it was announced just hours before filming," wrote Billboard.com.
