The truth is, the works of photojournalists continue to fight for space in the print medium with articles and advertisements. Often, the photojournalist’s interpretation of a story is different from that of a reporter or an editor. Nobody is right or wrong. It’s just a different way of looking at things, literally.

For example, I spent two days with two police officers on their day and night patrols, capturing photos for a photo essay. Unfortunately, the limited space of the print medium meant my full story never got told.

While many photojournalists may lament the detrimental effects of digital photography, the digital realm also has infinite opportunities.

This then is the purpose of the TODAY photojournalism blog – to give photojournalists a chance to showcase their best works, to give them a voice for their stories, and to take the standard of visual story-telling to another level.

Now, allow me to present the story of the two police officers through my Viewfinder.
