Welcome to the
Government Electronic Directory Services

The Government Electronic Directory Services (GEDS) provides an
integrated directory of all federal public servants. Government Telecommunications and Informatics Services (GTIS)
initiated this project to bring together two directory services it presently manages - the Email Address Exchange Service
(EMAX), with X.400 addresses of more than 160,000 public servants, and the government of Canada telephone directories.
Direct500 currently searches most of the National Capital Region directory and will expanded throughout this fiscal year to
include all regions.
