List Your Classic Application on Apple's Web Site
Mac OS X Public Beta is here! Consumers are very eager to learn which applications run on Mac OS X Public Beta. Apple maintains a web page listing applications that meet minimal performance standards when operating in Mac OS X's Classic environment.

We encourage you to list your application(s) on Apple's pages to get your products in front of potential customers. In order to be listed, your application must be tested by a third party to ensure your application(s):
  1. Install on machines running Mac OS X Public Beta
  2. Provide basic functionality in Mac OS X Public Beta's Classic environment. The testers will:
    - Launch the application
    - Create and save a simple document or project
    - Re-open saved document or project
    - Change and save application preferences
    - Quit

The Apple Developer Connection has established Mac OS X Classic application testing procedures with three high-quality firms that specialize in the Mac, and Mac OS X. Any of these firms may test your application(s) and report the results to us. The fee for this service is US$50 per application tested. Upon meeting the minimum requirements, your application(s) will be included on our official Classic Compatible list.

Get Your Application(s) Tested
To get your application(s) tested for Classic compatibility in Mac OS X Public Beta, you must do the following:

1. Download the Classic Compatibility Testing Form (pdf format).
2. Fill out one form for EACH application to be tested.
3. Attach form to application.
4. Ship application(s) on CD-ROM with testing form and payment for each application included. (sorry, no credit cards or POs ... checks only) to the testing firm of your choice.

Your application will be tested within 48 hours of receipt by the testing firm. Upon testing your application(s), the testing firm will notify Apple of the result; if your application(s) meet the minimum requirements, it will be added to Apple's official Classic Compatibility web page. The Classic Compability web pages are updated twice each week, so please allow a full week for turnaround.

Built for Mac OS X?
We want to inform customers about your products that have been built to take advantage of the new features in Mac OS X. If you have products that meet these criteria, please update your product(s) listing in the Macintosh Products Guide.

Completing the Mac OS X - specific details on the Product Submission page will place your product(s) on the Built for Mac OS X list.
