Starostin's revision of Pokorny's Indo-European Dictionary

Postby I E on Tue Sep 23, 2008 12:46 pm

Starostin's revision of Pokorny's Indo-European Dictionary defaces original Pokorny's text in many different ways, thus below is provided link to original unchanged Pokorny's work available in Internet Archive, that includes bare OCRed text and bare scandata. Internet Archive contains also many other German PIE-related works.

http://www.archive.org/search.php?query ... B6rterbuch

http://ia350629.us.archive.org/1/items/ ... 1pokouoft/
http://ia350621.us.archive.org/3/items/ ... 2pokouoft/
http://ia350626.us.archive.org/3/items/ ... 3pokouoft/

Original German text of Pokorny is badly scanned by scanner-jen-ford@archive.org on some pages, disallowing full preservation of text - most severe misscanning is on page 959. Best solution would be making again full rescan of whole Pokorny from printed original, forcibly pressed by heavy weight into scanner for this purpose, to avoid shadows on scanned data.

Full original unchanged German text - first volume - "Text" - with all 2222 roots, color:

http://ia350621.us.archive.org/3/items/ ... kouoft.pdf
http://ia350626.us.archive.org/3/items/ ... kouoft.pdf

Full original unchanged German text - first volume - "Text" - with all 2222 roots, gray:

http://ia350629.us.archive.org/1/items/ ... oft_bw.pdf
http://ia350621.us.archive.org/3/items/ ... oft_bw.pdf
http://ia350626.us.archive.org/3/items/ ... oft_bw.pdf

Slocum's index for Pokorny in online website:

Full original unchanged German text - second volume - "Vorrede des Verfassers", "Register", "Abkürzungsverzeichnis" - is missed.
