Information Centres on Europe The Information Centres on Europe are a good example of decentralisation and shared responsibilities in information policy: they are set up on the joint initiative of the Commission and the government of a Member State; broader partnerships may be created by involving other public or private organisations. The Information Centres are located in capital cities and their mission is to keep the general public informed, respond to requests for information from special interest groups and create a permanent forum for meetings, training and other events relating to Europe. There are currently three of these centres: the "Sources d'Europe"
in Paris, the "Jacques Delors" in Lisbon and the Berlin Information
Centre at Jean Monnet House. Sources d'Europe Centro de Informação Jacques Delors Europäisches Informationszentrum Berlin |
