European Parliament

The Directorate-General distributes daily press releases and "Info-Memos" on Parliament's activities (debates in parliamentary committees). The agenda for meetings is announced in "Avant-Première". The Daily Notes are available in nine languages and reports the daily debates in Parliament. These documents, including the Who's Who, timetables and detailed agendas of Parliament's activities are accessible on-line on the Epistel database.

The European Parliament also produce another database called EPOQUE which enables Members, political groups and staff to have access to documentation useful to them in their work. Its second objective is to provide information on the activities of the European Parliament to the outside world. Documentation available in EPOQUE includes:

• legislative procedures (since the entry into force of the Single Act),
• session documents (reports, motions for resolutions...),
• parliamentary questions (written and oral questions),
• debates, petitions, studies,
• the library catalogue, etc.

Access to EPISTEL and EPOQUE are possible through a PC and modem. Once the identification number and password have been obtained, the person can key into the databases.
