Customer Service

t BC Hydro we are taking a hard look at how we do business, in order to do things better. We value your business and want you to know that at BC Hydro, our customers are number one.

We are measuring our performance against your expectations and electric utilities across western North America and conducting regular customer satisfaction surveys. These surveys rate us 8 out of 10 on customer satisfaction. It's a good start, but not good enough.

We know that we need to improve our customer service. Today we're listening to our customers, and making helpful changes.

We're extending our hours so we'll be there when you need us. Our plans include one-stop shopping for all your power needs - one phone number for emergency outages, billing enquiries and energy efficiency information.

At BC Hydro, we recognize that the "one size fits all" type of service traditionally delivered by electric utilities is no longer adequate or appropriate. Therefore, we're also making changes in the services we provide for our customers.

Many of our customers - particularly commercial and industrial clients - would like tailored contracts, products and services that meet their individual needs.

Our key account managers, working directly with major customers, are developing customized energy solutions to add value to our customers' business. They provide personalized one-on-one service so that their large business customers who depend heavily on energy, get the maximum value from it and in turn maximize their profitability.
