Electronic Device and Television Recycling Law
The Hawaii Electronic Waste and Television Recycling and Recovery Law requires manufacturers of covered electronic devices (CEDs) and televisions (TVs) to operate recycling programs. Covered electronics include computers, printers, monitors, and televisions.

Retailer Information and Responsibilities
Retailers of CEDs and TVs sold in the state of Hawaii must provide their customers with information on recycling programs offered by manufacturers. Only brands registered with the Department of Health (DOH) may be sold in Hawaii.
Manufacturers of CEDs sold in the state of Hawaii must register with the Department of Health (DOH) and pay an annual registration fee of $5,000. Manufacturers must register with DOH prior to selling CEDs in Hawaii. Manufacturer recycling plans must be implemented by
January 1, 2010.
Manufacturers of TVs sold in the state of Hawaii must register with the Department of Health (DOH) and pay an annual registration fee of $2,500. Manufacturers must register with DOH prior to selling TVs in Hawaii. Manufacturer recycling plans must be implemented by
