Treaty and Interim Measures

We provide support to the Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconcilation in helping them resolve land claim settlements, through treaties and other negotiated agreements, in order to achieve legal certainty and economic stability in the Province of British Columbia. Resource Analysis and Decisions Support provides expert analysis and consultation to several key MARR initiatives:

  • Treaty Related Measures,
  • Economic Measures,
  • Treaty Negotiations, and
  • Aboriginal Relations.

Resource Analysis and Decisions Support delivers the Information Sharing Protocol with Canada, a key sub-agreement of the Memorandum of Understanding Between Canada and British Columbia Respecting the Sharing of Pre-Treaty Costs, Implementation Costs and the Costs for Self-government. Resource Analysis and Decisions Support ensures, on behalf of the Treaty Negotiations Office, that the province provides leadership in this MOU with Canada. Resource Analysis and Decisions Support is able to use its knowledge of the information and technology industry to help the Information Sharing Protocol meet its key strategic goals:

  • Information Reliability,
  • Land Ownership and Tenure Statusing,
  • Access to Information,
  • Capacity Building.

We provide the key link in delivering vital provincial data in the form of readily understandable information to these clients. Through consultation, analysis, and custom cartographic products we facilitate key decision-making.
