The Integrated Registry Branch, in working with other
ministries and agencies across government, plays a key
role in the management of land and resource tenure activities
on the Crown land base of BC. The Branch is also a "foundation
block" to the Integrated Land Management Bureau's
mission to create natural resource opportunities for
British Columbian's through the integrated delivery
of natural resource authorizations, Crown Land administration,
planning and natural resource information services.
The Branch acts primarily as a shared service provider
to its core clients: Ministry of Forests and Range,
Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, Ministry of Energy,
Mines and Petroleum Resources and the Ministry of Environment
to update and maintain the Crown Land and Resource Cadastre
on behalf of government. The Branch is also responsible
for building and maintaining a survey parcel (Crown
and private) fabric for the province, providing specialized
land and resource status information and the provision
of Crown land digital document images and Crown cadastre
data. Other key responsibilities for the Branch include
the management of the Crown Land Registry and the development,
deployment and operation of the Integrated Land and
Resource Registry.
Although technology plays an integral role into how
the Branch is able to meet its responsibilities, the
heart of the "system" is the staff who are
part of the is organization. These valuable staff members
act as leaders in their field and are committed to providing
quality service to their core clients and to the people
of BC.
The information contained on this website provides
a "window" into the activities of the Branch
and its key linkages to the rest of the Integrated Land
Management Bureau. I hope this information is informative
and useful.
Sincerely,
G. David Chater
Director
