Information society
What happened to the debate on ethics of the information society within COMEST?
During its third session, COMEST decided that two particular activities from its agenda - the ethics of fresh water and the ethics of the information society – should be dealt with in closer cooperation with the Natural Sciences Sector and the Communication and Information Sector, respectively, making full use of UNESCO’s intersectorial potential. For this reason, further reflection on the information society will greatly involve the Communication and Information Sector. Some of the relevant issues are discussed in the framework of the ethics of space policy, such as data management issues.
