International Dark-Sky Association

Welcome

Welcome to the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA) home page. The IDA is a non-profit, membership-based organization. IDA's goal is to be effective -- through education about (a) the value and effectiveness of quality nighttime lighting and (b) of the solutions to the problems -- in stopping the adverse environmental impact of light pollution and space debris. We are making a difference!

Have you come from the Parade article on light pollution and IDA? Then click here for some basic information on the issues, or go on to explore our web site on your own.

The IDA can be reached via e-mail at ida@darksky.org, by postal mail at 3225 N. First Ave.; Tucson, AZ 85719; USA, via telephone at (520) 293-3198 voice, or (520) 293-3192 (fax). Please be patient, as we are very busy and traveling often delays response.

If you have a fast connection, give the enhanced version of our Web site a try.
