Weblink Plug-in The Weblink Plug-in allows Acrobat Exchange(R) users to add World Wide Web (URL) links to PDF documents and follow those links to PDF or HTML files on Web servers anywhere on the Internet. Using a plug-in extension to the Acrobat Exchange Link tool, you simply create a link and type in the URL identifying the Web document you wish to link to. Clicking a World Wide Web link will launch Netscape(TM) Navigator(TM) or Spyglass Enhanced Mosaic (if it isn't already running) and the Web browser will retrieve the document and display it. Requirements: Weblink is compatible with Acrobat Exchange 2.0 and Acrobat Reader 2.1. This plug-in is not necessary for Acrobat 3.0. For Acrobat Reader, you can only follow URL links, you cannot create them. Acrobat Exchange is required to create URL links. Weblink is compatible with the following Web browsers: Netscape Navigator 1.1 or later, Spyglass Mosaic 2.0 or later, Quarterdeck Mosaic 2.0 or later. Download the free Plug-in for Macintosh or Windows platforms. Or FTP the free Plug-in for Macintosh or Windows. [MW]

Movie Plug-in The Movie Plug-in enables Acrobat Exchange users to add QuickTime(R) and AVI movie and sound files to Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) documents. You can use a digital movie-making tool, such as Adobe Premiere(R), to record and edit the movies and sounds that you add to PDF documents. Acrobat Reader and Exchange users can play movies and sounds directly in a PDF document or in a separate window that floats above the document. To play clips, your computer must have the appropriate sound and video boards installed.
Requirements: The Movie Plug-in is compatible with Acrobat Exchange 2.0 or 2.1 and Acrobat Reader
2.1. This plug-in is not necessary for Acrobat 3.0. For Acrobat Reader, you can only play back movies and sounds; you cannot add
them to PDF files. Acrobat Exchange is required to add movies and sounds to PDF files.
On the Windows platform, you need the Apple QuickTime 2.0 or later or the Microsoft Video for Windows
software. On the Macintosh platform, you need QuickTime 2.0 or later. If you don't have these, you can
obtain them from
http://quicktime.apple.com/. Download the free Plug-in for Macintosh Or FTP the free Plug-in for Macintosh. [MW]

SuperCrop Plug-in Did you know you can crop pages using Acrobat Exchange to eliminate uneeded white space when viewing PDF documents? Well, you can and here's a nifty plug-in that makes that process even easier. SuperCrop adds a new crop tool to the toolbar that looks and works like the Adobe Photoshop(R) crop tool. Use it to drag-select a region and crop the current page or all pages with that crop region. You can increase the size of the region by moving the cursor to one of the four corners and dragging it, or you can hold down either the Command key (Mac) or Shift key (Win) to move the entire crop region around. There's even an automatic option to crop to the bounding box of the page. Requirements: Acrobat Exchange 2.0 or 2.1. An Acrobat 3.0 version will be available soon. Download the free Plug-in for Macintosh or Windows platforms. |

OLE Server Plug-ins These OLE Plug-ins enable Acrobat Exchange and Reader to act as an OLE server to view PDF documents embedded in other OLE-enabled container applications. PDF documents can be incorporated into other documents created by any OLE 1.0 or OLE 2.0 container application. Container applications allow data from other applications to be incorporated within their documents. For example, a PDF file can be embedded into a Lotus Notes(R) document or a Microsoft Access(R) form. When Acrobat is used with OLE, visually rich documents can be distributed without requiring the recipient to have the applications, fonts, or platform used to create the document. For example, a brochure created in an Adobe PageMaker(R) file on a Macintosh and converted to PDF can be embedded within a Lotus Notes database and viewed by someone on a PC running Microsoft Windows. Requirements for Macintosh: Acrobat Exchange 2.0 or later or Acrobat Reader 2.1 or later. The Macintosh version includes all of the required OLE 2.0 libraries and OLE-enabled Acrobat Exchange and Reader. Requirements for Windows: Acrobat Reader 2.1 or later and OLE 2.0 or later. Note that Acrobat Exchange 2.0 and later are already OLE-enabled and this Plug-in is not required. Download the free Plug-in for Macintosh or Windows platforms. For Acrobat 3.0, only Macintosh is available. Or FTP the free Plug-in for Macintosh or Windows platforms. For Acrobat 3.0, only Macintosh is available.[MW]

Monitor Setup (Device-Independent Color) Plug-in
PDF language version 1.1 (the version of PDF associated with Acrobat 2.0 and 2.1 products) allows for device-independent color (DIC) specifications. This allows creators of PDF documents to specify the color of objects in a page description independent of the color characteristics of the destination device, for example, a monitor or printer. The result of using DIC is consistent color reproduction from device to device. This is important because of the large color variations between different devices. Even two monitors can have widely different color characteristics. Note that not all colors in a given PDF document will be specified in this DIC manner. Currently, only PDF files created by Acrobat Distiller(R) 2.1 or later contain DIC color specification on a global level and only images are affected, i.e., not line art. Acrobat Exchange 2.0 or later has an internal preferences value associated with displaying colors in a calibrated manner. This preference value is not exposed by the Acrobat Exchange user interface. However, it can be exposed by Plug-ins such as Monitor Setup. Requirements: Acrobat Exchange 2.0 or 2.1. This plug-in is not necessary for Acrobat 3.0. Download the free Plug-in for Macintosh platform. Or FTP the free Plug-in for Macintosh. [M]
