Long Time Directors Retire

November 13, 2000

At the Annual General Meeting of the Society this fall Ron Walker and Flip Cervo, two long time Directors, retired from the Board of Directors.

Ron Walker, a long time resident of Prince Rupert, currently lives in Prince George. Ron’s involvement with the Northern B C Winter Games started in 1978 when he participated in the Prince George Games, winning the Bronze Medal in Archery. Ron became involved with the Society in 1984 when he became Regional Director for the North Coast. He held this position until 1994 when he took on the Director at Large – Sport position. In 1997 Ron became Vice-President while continuing with the Sport responsibilities.

Flip Cervo, a long time resident of Terrace, currently is a resident of Surrey. Flip’s involvement started in 1983 when he was assistant Control Centre Chairman for the Terrace Games. He became involved in the Society in 1984 when he became the Co-Director for the Kitimat Stikine region. Two years later he was elected Region Director for the Kitimat Stikine region, a position he held for 8 years. He also served as Secretary of the Society for 6 years and as Director at Large – Admin for one year.

The Board of Directors wish Ron and Flip success in their future activities.

The next Northern B C Winter Games will be held in Mackenzie, February 1 – 4.
