150 YEARS BY ACCEPTING 3 MILLIONTH VOLUME -- AND ONE MORE!
October 15, 1996:The University Libraries will commemorate the acquisition of their 3 millionth and 3 million-and-first volumes -- a 400-year-old obstetrical text and a new CD ROM featuring UB's Poetry Collection -- with a program on Oct. 20. SOFTWARE PROVIDES QUICK ANALYSIS OF ION-CHANNEL ACTIVITY October 8, 1996:University at Buffalo biophysicists have developed software programs that take only minutes to analyze the activity of ion channels, which control the activity of the body's organs, including the brain. RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ALCOHOL AND BREAST CANCER IS FOCUS OF NEW $1.6 MILLION STUDY October 4, 1996:University at Buffalo scientists will examine the relationship between drinking alcoholic beverages and breast cancer under a $1.6 million grant from the U.S. Armyıs special program for breast-cancer research.
