APE, the Alternative Press Expo, returns to San Francisco on October 1 and 2 at the Concourse Exhibition Center, located at 635 8th Street. Coming off its biggest year ever in 2010, with a larger Exhibit Hall, additional programming tracks, and attendance topping 5,500, APE is one of the must-attend comics events of the year.

Featured guests at APE 2011 include Kate Beaton (Hark! A Vagrant!), Daniel Clowes (Wilson, The Death Ray; courtesy Drawn & Quarterly), Craig Thompson (Blankets, Habibi), Matthew Thurber (1-800-MICE; co-sponsored by PictureBox), Adrian Tomine (Optic Nerve, Scenes from an Impending Marriage), and Shannon Wheeler (Too Much Coffee Man, Oil and Water). All of these superstar comics creators will have NEW books featured at APE. Here's your chance to meet them and get your copies signed!

APE presents the very best in alternative and small press comics, with an Exhibit Hall packed with cutting-edge creators. This year's Exhibit Hall features over 400 exhibitors, including some of the biggest indy comics publishers (SLG, IDW, Fantagraphics, Drawn and Quarterly, Top Shelf, Last Gasp, BOOM! Studios, and many more), plus artists and DIY creators showcasing their comics, books, zines, original art, hand-made items, and much more. Click here for a complete list of APE Exhibitors!

APE once again features programming all weekend long. You can look forward to spotlight events featuring all of the show's special guests, plus panels devoted to other comics-oriented topics, and separate hands-on workshop tracks and the return of the popular Comic Creator Connection, where we pair up writers and artists for the opportunity of working together. The complete programming and workshop schedule is coming soon; click here for more information on the Comics Creator Connection and how to register to be a part of it.
