APE Returns to San Francisco, Oct. 1 & 2!

APE, the Alternative Press Expo, returns to San Francisco on October 1 and 2 at
the Concourse Exhibition Center, located at 635 8th Street. Coming off its
biggest year ever in 2010, with a larger Exhibit Hall, additional programming
tracks, and attendance topping 5,500, APE is one of the must-attend comics
events of the year.
Featured guests at APE 2011 include
Kate Beaton (Hark! A Vagrant!),
Daniel Clowes (Wilson, The Death Ray; courtesy Drawn & Quarterly),
Craig Thompson (Blankets, Habibi),
Matthew Thurber (1-800-MICE; co-sponsored by PictureBox),
Adrian Tomine (Optic Nerve, Scenes from an Impending Marriage), and
Shannon Wheeler (Too Much Coffee Man, Oil and Water).
All of these superstar comics
creators will have NEW books featured at APE. Here's your chance to meet them

APE presents the very best in alternative and small press comics, with an
Exhibit Hall packed with cutting-edge creators. This year's Exhibit Hall
features over 400 exhibitors, including some of the biggest indy comics
publishers (SLG, IDW, Fantagraphics, Drawn and Quarterly, Top Shelf, Last Gasp,
BOOM! Studios, and many more), plus artists and DIY creators showcasing their
comics, books, zines, original art, hand-made items, and much more.

APE once again features programming all weekend long. You can look forward to
spotlight events featuring all of the show's special guests, plus panels devoted
to other comics-oriented topics, and separate hands-on workshop tracks and the
return of the popular Comic Creator Connection,

Advance tickets are available online now for APE 2011! A single day ticket is $10.00;
a ticket for both days is $15.00. After purchasing online, you will receive a confirmation
e-mail with a barcode. Please print that out and bring it with you to APE. Once scanned,
you'll receive your badge and official Program Book and you'll
be good to go!
Save time in line onsite by ordering your tickets online. And do yourself a
favor and go both days...you'll need the extra time to visit everyone in the Exhibit Hall
and see all the great programs and workshops!
