Our vision
Easy access for the Australian and international communities to the diverse activities of the dynamic Australian culture and recreation sectors.

Our mission
The Culture and Recreation Portal will enrich the lives of Australians and the wider global community by promoting online access to Australia's cultures and recreation sector.

Our objectives
The Culture and Recreation Portal will:

  • Develop as the premier point for online access to Australian arts, culture and recreation;
  • Integrate its redevelopment with the Commonwealth Government Online Strategy customer focussed portals;
  • Establish itself as a resource for other online developments eg cultural marketplaces, other portals; and
  • Develop the online capacity and innovation of the cultural organisations whose sites are linked to/from the culture and recreation portal.

Our strategies to achieve these outcomes
The Culture and Recreation Portal will:

  • Encourage the coordinated development of online services throughout Australia's culture and recreation sectors.
  • Initiate collaborative developments demonstrating use of online services in and for Australia's culture and recreation sectors.
  • Form alliances and collaborate on special projects to encourage the use of online services throughout Australia's culture and recreation sectors.
  • Promote online access to Australia's cultures and recreational services nationally and internationally.
