Main
menu bars
The main menu bar at the
top of this screen appears throughout this site. Use it to jump from
any screen to any main menu screen. A text menu bar also appears at
the bottom of every screen.
Left margin menus
Left margin menus are deliberately varied between
screens, according to the section or area they occupy within the
site. This allows you to easily move around within a section or area.
The left margin also allows you to subscribe
to the free ausculture newsletter.
In screen "Contents" links
On our longer screens, we have included lists of
contents or a menu with links to the main sections on the screen. Where the
screens extend over a number of screen lengths, we have also provided links
back to the top of the screen and/or to the contents list. You can also return
to the location of the "Contents" link you clicked using the "back
button" on your browser.
Sitemap
To gain a quick overview of the site's contents
the sitemap
is optimised for fast downloading and is compatible with text readers. It
can also be used as an alternative method of navigating.
Searching
Searching is available from the homepage and from
the top of most screens. For help with searching, see our search
help screen.
We also have an advanced
search feature that enables you to closely focus your search by category
and/or sub-category, and/or location, and/or audience type, plus key words.
This feature is accessible on all screens from the menu bar below the header.
There is also a separate search which is restricted
to our Articles.
Our Internet Guides also have their own contents
screen for easy reference and there's a 'Search the Guides' box on every
screen of the Guides.
Bookmarking
As we do not use any framesets,
you can bookmark any screen in this site for direct access later.
There are thousands of links out of this
site to other cultural websites around Australia; clicking on any of
these will take you directly to the other site within the same
browser session. Use the back button and/or history on your browser
to return to this site.
