To encourage the uptake of online services
across the cultural sector funding was given from 1998 to 2000 to initiate
or further develop 12 projects
and networks
which best demonstrated use of online services in Australia's cultural
community. The program is now completed.
Russell Drysdale 1912-81 celebrates
the works of one of Australia's most noted artists. The website
provides a record of selected paintings and incorporates Drysdale's
lesser known photographs. It explores his interpretations of national
identity and culture at a time of tremendous social change in Australian

Stories of the Dreaming is an
exciting website developed by the Australian Museum. The project
has gathered dreaming stories from south-eastern Australia, told
by the traditional owners of the stories.
Training was the focus of Metro Screen's
project for Australia's Cultural Network. The aim was to assist
indigenous artists to utilise new technologies - whether as an extension
of their arts practice or as a means of developing new practices
using the digital technologies as tools.
The Space is an online arts and culture-focused
gateway website produced using the resources of the Australian Broadcasting
Corporation (ABC) and funded by Australia's Cultural Network. An innovative use of screen real estate,
quality graphics and content make The Space a great place to source
information about Australian cultural activity.
VENEW
is an innovative performing arts site which features the Byte Sized
Theatre and First Person: Broadband Drama Studio.
The LOUD Media Festival of Youth Culture
and the Arts was a festival encompassing radio, TV, film and a website.
The website includes original art and writing, virtual tours, a
postcard competition and much more.
Arts South Australia coordinated a Digitisation
Forum Online which provided information on a range of digitisation
issues. The work has subsequently been taken up by the National
Library of Australia. Read

The National Library of Australia (NLA)
coordinates the Australian Libraries Gateway, a comprehensive nation-wide
libraries' network.
The National Archives of Australia is
expanding the present Archives of Australia Network to provide a
national Web-based network .
AMOL is a major project bringing together
Commonwealth and state governments and the museum industry to focus
on the task of increasing access to Australia's heritage collections.
Screen Network Australia improves access
to screen industry resources and events in the film, television
