Schlussfolgerungen
Since August 2002, EFSA has been responsible for the EU peer review of active substances used in plant protection products, also known as pesticides. This task is carried out by EFSA’s Pesticide Risk Assessment Peer Review (PRAPeR) unit. PRAPeR produces conclusions of the risk assessment on active substances which have undergone the peer review process at EU level. These conclusions summarise the outcome of the assessment of a substance, including the peer review, and are provided to the EU-Commission and the Member States which take decisions following legally defined procedures on whether or not to include an active substance in the Community’s positive list (Annex I of Directive 91/414/EEC). This determines whether an active substance can be used in a product in the EU.
