Advisory Forum declaration of intent

At the 18th EFSA Advisory Forum meeting in Berne, 29 September 2006, representatives from European National food safety authorities signed a ‘Declaration of Intent’ aimed at strengthening scientific cooperation and information exchange on risk assessment and risk commmunications in the European Union. Within the scope of the Declaration of Intent, activities may include the formalization of the sharing of scientific data on specific dossiers; the setting up of ad-hoc liaison groups on forthcoming risk assessments; the sharing of draft opinions under embargo on issues of particular importance and the formalization of communications channels.
