The World shows international boundaries on February 1, 1993 and gives status (sovereign state or dependency) for all countries. The map also has a guide to aid users in finding new names for places, countries and features, since wherever possible, names on the map are the locally-used forms. All populated places are classified by population size. Other features include a table giving air distances between major cities, and a table listing two-letter abbreviations for selected countries. Update of the 1974 edition.
The North Circumpolar Region map provides a comprehensive view of the area of Canada and the World situated between 55ºN latitude and the North Pole. Special features include:

Its special features include all federal, provincial and state boundaries for Canada, the United States and Mexico ; major road and rail transportation networks; and offshore features such as ocean bathymetry and Canada's exclusive fishing zone. There is also a distance chart for major cities also giving their population and time zones, an inset map showing physiography and on the folded version of the maps, a gazetteer listing all 2400 populated places shown on the map. This map is offered in two versions: a flat copy on semi-gloss paper and a folded copy on heavy map paper. The map is an update of the 1971 edition .
