Fire Wardens
Fire wardens are an important resource for detecting fires. They are scattered across the province and act as auxiliary fire fighters. They complement existing fire crews by participating in suppression operations, mop up and surface patrol. Many experienced fire wardens have received extensive certification and have attended boot camps. Fire wardens have some of the authority of a fire official, and many enter onto private land to put out fires. Each fire warden is hired for individual fires or may be put on a stand-by basis during busy wildfire periods.
