Officer of the Order of Military Merit

Officers of the Order are appointed for outstanding meritorious service while fulfilling duties of responsibility.

They are entitled to wear their badge suspended from a point above the left breast pocket of service uniforms, and can use the initials O.M.M. after their name.

After 22 years of loyal service to Canada, Lieutenant-Commander Thibault of the Physical Education and Recreation Branch continues to display great willingness and an exemplary sense of duty. Possessed of extremely high personal standards and an innovative approach, she has delivered a clearly superior performance since the beginning of her training. In 1992, she received a special commendation from the Commander of Maritime Command in recognition of her sustained efforts during the events surrounding the Persian Gulf war. Her contributions on a community and social level are equally outstanding. An example is her work to improve relations between the community of Chicoutimi and Canadian Forces Base Bagotville, which earned her several letters of appreciation from the head of the organizing committee for the regional Carnaval.
