Governor General of Canada invites population from the Gaspé peninsula on a walk in Forillon National
Park

OTTAWA - Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, Governor General of Canada, invites
people from the Gaspé peninsula to join her for a walk in Forillon National Park on Sunday,
June 2, 2002, from 2 to 5 p.m.
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Canadian Governors General. On this occasion, everyone
is invited to join Governor General Clarkson for a walk on “les Graves” trail (from l’Anse-aux-Sauvages
to Cap Gaspé.) The goal of the walk is for people to connect with the land in places that have
a particular meaning for that area and to have a chance for the Governor General to meet people
in a fun and informal setting. Forillon National Park is a site of cultural and historical importance
as well as natural splendor.
