VERNON – A Canada-British Columbia Inventory and Pricing Incentive Program is now available to licensed meat processors in British Columbia. The inventory incentive program will allow processors to offer higher prices to producers and keep the flow of cattle moving.
VANCOUVER, B.C. – The Honourable Robert G. Thibault, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans of Canada, the Honourable Geoff Plant, Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Treaty Negotiations of British Columbia and the Honourable John van Dongen, Minister of Agriculture, Food, and Fisheries of British Columbia, have announced the establishment of a two-member task group to explore fishery arrangements that bring greater certainty for all fishery participants in a post-treaty era.
The Honourable Robert G. Thibault, federal Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, and the Honourable John van Dongen, British Columbia Minister of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries, today signed an agreement establishing the Pacific Council of Fisheries Ministers. This agreement is a significant improvement over the previous one because it provides more input into a broader range of fishery issues.
