B.C. SEEKS ALTERNATIVES TO OPEN BURNING
VICTORIA – The B.C. government is investing $600,000 over three years to better protect air quality by exploring new techniques and technologies to manage woody debris from logging and land development, Environment Minister Barry Penner and Forests and Range Minister Pat Bell announced.

GALBRAITH ROAD TO BE CLOSED FOR BRIDGE REPLACEMENTS
CRANBROOK – The public is advised that beginning Wednesday, Aug. 20, the Galbraith Forest Service Road will be closed to all traffic for about six weeks to facilitate the replacement of six bridges along the road.

NAK'AZDLI TO RECEIVE $112,500 FOR HISTORIC RESTORATION
FORT ST. JAMES – The Community Development Trust is providing $112,500 to the Nak'azdli Natural Resource and Development Centre to support the restoration of the historic Duzcho Trail, Forests and Range Minister Pat Bell announced.
Building a strong and diverse forest sector through revitalization, while maintaining high environmental standards, will help ensure long-term jobs and economic benefits.
