Jules Léger LibraryThe Jules Léger Library's main mandate is to support the research needs of departmental employees both at Headquarters in Ottawa and at missions abroad. In addition, the Library supports the needs of Canadian and foreign clients conducting research in the subject areas mandated to the department such as foreign affairs and international trade.

Our location

Beginning June 30, 2010, the library will be closed for construction and will be re-opening in a new location in 2011. Reference and lending services will continue to be available via phone and e-mail during the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (excluding statutory holidays and weekends)

Public services

The library also offers many services for the public including interlibrary loans, reference and research facilities, and loan instructions for retired departmental staff and members of the diplomatic corps.
