Le Chant du Monde quickly established a reputation as a champion of the French and Russian classical repertoires, both on paper
(published scores) and on record.
Today, Le Chant du Monde fully assumes this joint heritage with its music publishing wing – wholly devoted to the works of such figures as Prokofiev and Shostakovich, and the many contemporary composers it represents throughout the world –and its record label, now turned more towards chanson, jazz, and music for young people.
Faithful to the spirit that has dominated its activities since its birth in 1938, the label has, more than ever,
its ear attuned to all the songs of the world.
