NME TV - Hottest video of the week

Babyshambles: ‘You Talk’

Douglas Hart, Director: “Pete was getting busted so often in London that it sort of became a joke – it was almost like a trophy arrest for some policemen – so he decided to move to the town of Marlborough in Wiltshire to get away. We still got some paparazzi during the planning stages, but it wasn’t as bad as the last video, which I also directed. The external shots are filmed less than a minute’s walk from his house, but the inside was filmed in his living room. I just wanted to get a contrast between the more relaxed, outdoors feel and the claustrophobia of being in a little room with lots of people around. We just enlisted a bunch of local kids to be extras, but I think all their parents were shitting themselves that the antichrist had descended on their little town! Pete doesn’t live there any more though – he’s moved on to somewhere even more remote now.”
