Beamline MAD10 User Manual

Here is a checklist of things to do before starting data collection. Please use the station log book extensively to record relevant experimental parameters as well as logging any problems you encounter with the station equipment.

Operations

• When you arrive...

• Ensure a valid Experimental Risk Assessment is displayed at the station.

• Setting up for Data Collection

  • Login to the station computers

  • Start the data collection software

    • beamline controll: OEM move

    • MAR DTB/CSC controll: marccd

  • Set up the sample cooling equipment

• Interlock the experimental hutch

• Select your wavelength

• Maximize ion chamber readings

• Mount your crystals 

  • using the CryoSampleChanger, Load the carousel

  • manually

• Align your crystal

• Create a new directory to keep your data

• Take a single frame

• Collecting Fluorescence scans for MAD

  • Absorption Edges vs Energy

  • Energy vs wavelength

• Drive the detector, beamstop, 2theta harm, cryostream, phi

• Start data collection

• Data processing

• Data Back up
