PBS Online is part of the Learning Ventures division of the Public Broadcasting Service in Alexandria, VA. An experienced on-site team manages the operations and editorial content for PBS Online and provides PBS member stations and producers with a publishing framework, technology resources and promotional opportunities. At any given time, up to 100 off-site developers create and maintain PBS Online content on PBS servers.

PBS Online, the Internet channel of PBS, operates as a business within PBS's non-profit mission of advancing education, culture and citizenship. PBS accepts online sponsorships and supports producers in seeking financing and underwriting for Web projects. PBS has a growing number of alliances with technology companies to provide both financial and technical support to PBS's online service. ShopPBS presents PBS Home Video and program-related merchandise available for purchase online. And PBS is active in the market for syndication of Web content. For more information about these enterprises, including ways that your company could participate, please e-mail Clinton O'Brien, Director of Business Development, at cobrien@pbs.org.

This site is best viewed with the latest version of either Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer.

Screen Size
Most PBS Online sites are designed for screen resolutions of either 800x600 pixels or 640x480 pixels. On a 640x480 screen, the graphics and text will appear larger but you will see less at one time without scrolling. On a 800x600 screen, you should be able to see most of the main screens without scrolling.

To change your screen resolution, look for "Display Properties" or "Monitors & Sound" in your Control Panel.

Font Size
PBS sites are best viewed when your default font is set to "Medium" on Internet Explorer or Times New Roman size 12 on Netscape Navigator. If your font size is set significantly larger or smaller than these, you may experience some distorted graphics.
