Distance learning courses are fully-accredited courses which combine interaction with the instructor and other students, video lessons, textbooks, study guides, and other print and media.

Take a look at the courses in the PBS catalog. A college in your area may offer some of the following courses as part of their curriculum. They are often listed as 100 or 200 level courses or in a separate section of the college's course schedule under telecourses, extended learning, or distance learning.

Courses are available in a variety of disciplines:

Anthropology
Area Studies

If you see a course that interests you, find a college in your area that offers our courses. Be sure to contact the college's telecourse or distance learning director to find out which courses are being offered next semester and how to enroll. If you're interested in earning a degree, please check our list of colleges and universities that offer a degree through the PBS Going the Distance Project.
