Birdwatch
BIRDWATCH, the series dedicated to North American birds and bird-watching, begins its third season in on PBS. In season three, BIRDWATCH travels across America to observe birds in a variety of interesting habitats. The series journeys to the Florida Everglades, Northern Ohio's Magee Marsh, San Francisco, Vermont and Montana to spot specific birds and engage in bird related activities. Dick Hutto and Craig Tufts host the series.

Bird-Friendly Golf Course/Backyard Habitat in the Northeast/Shorebirds in Florida

Dick Hutto returns to the Naples, Florida area to visit a golf course and residential community landscaped to attract a variety of birds, including screech owls, osprey, ibises and a variety of songbird species. Craig Tufts visits a certified backyard habitat to see what the homeowner has done to bring out the birds. Dick travels to Florida's west coast to identify migrating shorebirds.

Birding in a Burnt Forest/Hummingbirds in the Backyard

In the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness in eastern Idaho in a recently burned forest, host Dick Hutto leads viewers on a bird watching trip to discover Mountain Bluebirds, Townsend's Solitaire, Black-backed Woodpeckers and the role of fire in the lives of certain birds. Craig Tufts looks at hummingbird gardens and feeders as a surefire way to bring hummingbirds into the yard. Hutto looks at the role birds play in pollination and shows how to draw birds to a person using sounds that attract birds.
