1. The Botched Raid An ATF raid February 28, 1993 on the Branch Davidians' weapons stockpile ends in deaths and injuries on both sides. The FBI is called in. Waco is now their crisis.

2. Negotiations Begin The FBI starts radio broadcasting David Koreshıs scripture messages. In exchange, Koresh says he'll release the 46 children.  But he reneges on the deal.

3. A Widening Divide The FBI Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) wants to show force. But FBI negotiators fear going tactical-especially after seeing video bug tapes of Koresh with the children.

4. Trying Face-to-Face Talks Two negotiators and two Koresh deputies meet. Negotiators feel some trust is won. But Koresh vetoes further face-to-face talks and the HRT starts blasting noise and music.

5. Escalation On the siege's 23rd day, FBI negotiators agree on an action plan: send in tanks and CS (tear) gas to force the Davidians' evacuation.  But incredibly, the FBI doesnıt have a fire protection plan.

6. The Assault: April 19, 1993 Davidians fire on the tanks and the FBI escalates the operation using all its gas in two hours. Audio bug tapes later reveal the Davidians lit the fires; only nine of the 84 Davidians escaped.
