PLANNED PARENTHOOD ACTION FUND ENDORSEMENTS
The Planned Parenthood Action Fund is committed to ensuring that family planning and reproductive health care services are available to everyone who wants and needs them.
During election years, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund Political Action Committee (Planned Parenthood Federal PAC) endorse candidates who have proven themselves to be strong supporters of women’s health care.
2008 Presidential Endorsement: Sen. Barack Obama
We are very excited to officially endorse Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) for president of the United States. The board of the national Planned Parenthood Action Fund voted unanimously to recommend endorsing Sen. Obama, a decision ratified by Planned Parenthood's local action organizations, which represent the interests of all 99 Planned Parenthood affiliates.
2008 Congressional Endorsements
The Planned Parenthood Action Fund has created a list of congressional candidates who have earned our endorsement in the 2008 election cycle. Endorsed incumbents have a 100 percent pro-choice voting record based on the 2008 Congressional Scorecard, and endorsed challengers and candidates for open seats have satisfactorily completed our Federal Candidate Questionnaire.
More About the Planned Parenthood Federal PAC
The Planned Parenthood Federal PAC is a nonpartisan political action committee committed to supporting pro-choice, pro-family planning candidates for federal office. The Planned Parenthood Federal PAC also acts as a federal political committee for nearly 80 state and local Planned Parenthood action funds across the country.
In 2006, we helped pick up 19 pro-choice seats in the U.S. House and four in the U.S. Senate — and this year is shaping up to be even more successful!
