EVERYONE DESERVES QUALITY HEALTH CARE

We need your help to keep providing a broad range of affordable, quality services as part of America’s health care safety net.

Ensuring Access to Health Care

Planned Parenthood believes that all Americans should be guaranteed access to quality, affordable health care.

An integral part of America's health care safety net, Planned Parenthood has called for a renewed focus on preventive health. Many women, including many Planned Parenthood clients, rely on their reproductive health care provider as their primary source of health care. Through this relationship, women have access to a broad range of reproductive health care services that promote and protect their general health and well-being.

Nationwide, more than 880 Planned Parenthood affiliate health centers receive federal, state, and private funding to provide affordable, quality care to millions of patients a year.  But recently, Planned Parenthood has been under attack from anti-choice radicals who want to prevent us from serving women, men, teenagers, and families. For example, in the 110th Congress, Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) and Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN-06) each offered amendments designed to cut off federal health care funding to Planned Parenthood health centers.

  • Key Players

    • Sen. Hilary Clinton

      YAY: Sen. Hilary Clinton (D-NY)

Sen. Clinton for her leadership on opposing a Bush administration proposal that would deliberately confuse contraception with abortion and put political agendas ahead of patients’ needs.

    • SAVE BIRTH CONTROL NOW!

      Nay: The Family Research Council

This anti-family planning, anti-birth control fringe group is asking President Bush to deny federal family planning funds to health centers that also provide abortion services.
