Counter-Terrorist Financing - Rewards Program

The United States Department of the Treasury , in cooperation with the Department of State Rewards Program is launching a new Counter-Terrorist Financing Rewards Program. In a joint press conference held on 13 November 2002, State Department Coodinator for Counterterrorism Ambassador Frank Taylor and Treasury Undersecretary Jimmy Gurulé had these opening remarks.

International terrorism is financed by money sent to terrorist from sources around the world. The U.S. Government is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information leading to the dismantling of any system used to finance a terrorist organization and information leading to the arrest or conviction of those who planned or aided in any act of terrorism against U.S. persons or property.
