This position will provide support to the Sales Manager and Account Executives in the Mid-Atlantic Advertising Sales department, in the pursuit of advertising revenue for USA TODAY. The candidate will serve as the major point of contact for their assigned accounts in order to facilitate and expedite any activities/logistics associated with the account relationship. The candidate also will thoroughly understand the business/marketing focus of their assigned accounts in order to act as their liaison with the Advertising, Production and Marketing departments. The selected candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressured, hectic environment. The ability to work with all departments of USA TODAY advertising and marketing (including marketing, creative services, sales event planning, sales research, advertising operations and advertising administration) is key. College education with emphasis in Journalism, Communication, Advertising, Marketing and/or Business Administration (or comparable work experience) required along with 1-2 years experience working in a sales organization; a background in the publishing industry is preferred.

The National Account Manager will increase USA TODAY's circulation in the Retail segment through development and maintenance of relationships with high level contacts and decision makers in the food service, grocery, and gourmet categories. This position is a national position and includes accounts such as: Dunkin Donuts, Panera Bread, Sodexho, Compass and Aramark. Candidate should have minimum three to five years of direct sales experience and a college education (or equivalent combination of experience and education). Knowledge of the grocery, food service or restaurant business is a plus. Must have knowledge of Excel, Word, Paradox, Powerpoint and excellent typing skills. Candidate should have a solid comfort level in speaking to large groups of people, and be effective in delivering presentations. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to communicate with clients as well as throughout the organization.
