Business Relations Program

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade provides a wide range of services to help Australian business succeed overseas. DFAT can help your business access information you need about export markets and overseas investment destinations, demolish artificial barriers to fair trading, and make useful new contacts.

Providing access to these services for Victorian businesses is a major part of the work of the Victorian Office. We run seminars in Melbourne on topical trade and foreign policy issues. You can register your business if you would like us to notify you of future events by mail.

We can also put you in contact with high-profile government, media and academic visitors from all over the world who come to Victoria sponsored by DFAT. Australia's ambassadors and other senior officials are also available for consultation during their periodic visits to Melbourne. See our visitor's list for current and forthcoming visitors.

The Victorian Office stocks a range of publications by Foreign Affairs and Trade on political and economic developments within our trading partners, and on regional and global trade trends. These can be purchased from the Office at Level 14 Casselden Place, 2 Lonsdale St, Melbourne, or ordered through the Department's website www.dfat.gov.au/publications.

We would be very interested to hear what your export or overseas investment priorities might be, and what concerns you may have. If it would assist you, we can put you in touch with relevant geographic and policy areas in DFAT's Canberra headquarters and at posts overseas. You can contact the Victorian Office's business liaison officers, Phillip Molloy and Kristy Hughes, on tel:(03) 9221 5555, fax:(03) 9221 5455 or at dfatmelb@mira.net.
