Florent Pagny returns with Abracadabra

Two years after releasing Baryton, which sold 800,000 copies, French singer Florent Pagny has stormed back onto the music scene with Abracadabra . Released on April 18 on Mercury (a Universal Music Group label), this latest album marks the singer’s return to his pop roots. Abracadabra features 11 remarkably varied tracks, including the album’s lead single, a heart-wrenching ballad called “Là où je t’emmène”, plus “Comme l’eau se souvient”, written by Raphaël, and the surprising “Vivons la paix”, by rapper Oxmo Puccino.

During a career spanning almost 20 years, Florent Pagny has sold more than 10 million albums, including some of the greatest hits to emerge from the French music scene in recent years, such as “N’importe quoi”, which launched his career in 1987, “Bienvenue chez moi” and, more recently, “Ma liberté de penser”.

Ride a dragon with Eragon

Eragon is a young farm boy whose destiny is revealed with the help of a dragon. Swept into a world of magic, Eragon the Dragon Rider discovers that he alone has the power to save – or destroy – an empire.
This exciting story forms the basis of a brand new video game, Eragon, which will be published by Vivendi Games at the end of 2006 to coincide with the release of the upcoming Twentieth Century Fox feature film of the same name.

Eragon will be released concurrently on several gaming platforms: the PC, Xbox and Xbox 360 console versions (developed by Stormfront Studios) will all immerse the player in a magical world of dragons, destiny and adventure. Also available on all major handheld platforms (as developed by Amaze Entertainment), Eragon will offer Nintendo DS gamers an action-filled combat role-playing game (RPG), while the GameBoy Advance version features a story-driven turn-based RPG with nine playable characters, and a four-person multiplayer combat game version will be available on PSP.

Xbox 360 owners will soon be able to use their consoles to watch movies supplied by CanalPlay! The Canal+ Group’s video download subsidiary will be offering users the chance to download trailers onto the Microsoft console before buying Xbox-360-compatible movies from a Media Center. Users will then be able to stream movies onto a TV screen via the console in the comfort of their own homes.

This latest feature forms part of CanalPlay’s goal to provide a legal, on-demand, video download service that combines technical quality and optimal security with a wide choice of titles. The company also aims to expand the audiovisual landscape for consumers while meeting the needs of the largest possible number of users.
