Rose Garden of British House Yokohama
The "Rose" was designated as Yokohama's city flower on September 23, 1989 (Heisei 1) in order to create a symbol of a Yokohama filled with flowers and greenery. Many western roses are said to have landed in Japan through Yokohama's port just after its opening. They have become the flower most familiar to the citizens over a century.

City Trees

The following six trees, loved by the citizens, were designated as city trees on December 4th, 1971 (Showa 46) because they protect the citizens' land and surrounding environment, and they are deeply connected to lifestyle of the citizens.
