Profile of Director,
Andrew H. Wang

In addition to starting OCLC Asia Pacific Services in 1986, Mr. Wang has started three other successful OCLC divisions during his two decades with OCLC: OCLC Retrospective Conversion Services (RetroCon), OCLC Technical Processing Services (TechPro), and OCLC CJK Services.

In 1967, Andrew H. Wang joined St. Mary's College, MD, as head of the cataloging department. In 1969, he held the same position at Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and was promoted in 1972 to assistant librarian for technical services. Mr. Wang joined OCLC in 1976.

Mr. Wang holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from National Cheng-chi University, Taiwan; a master of science in library service from Atlanta University; and a master of business administration from The Ohio State University. Mr. Wang serves as advisor to the National Library in Taipei, Taiwan, and is a member of Beta Phi Mu, the International Honorary Society of Library Science.

Mr. Wang has lectured extensively throughout Asia and the Pacific region on library automation-related topics and has published extensively.
