In 1995, Zope Corporation (then known as Digital Creations)
was co-founded by former college roommates, Paul Everitt and Rob Page as a
joint venture with Virginia based InfiNet, an ISP specializing in print media.
The team developed software for newspapers to manage classified advertising.
With the advent of the Internet, Zope Corporation found a
niche by taking the concept of content management and developing an
object-oriented framework for publishing that content to the Internet with
enriched, unique functionality. Adding the open source solution component, with
its growing acceptance by the mainstream technology and business elite, renders
the Zope solution a viable threat to other major players in the content
management space. Zope applications are currently in use in more than 56
countries.
