Steve Reeves, actor, champion bodybuilder and friend, passed away May 1st, 2000.
Steve Reeves was the most successful bodybuilder of his time. He was handsome, had an extraordinary physique, loved his sport and was driven as a perfectionist. To me, he was all of those things and much more. As a teenager, I grew up with Steve Reeves. He was the hero I cheered for in the cinema, and the champion bodybuilder who's pictures hung in my room, inspiring and challenging me to be the best. His remarkable accomplishments allowed me a sense of what was possible when others around me didn't always understand my dreams. In that sense, Steve Reeves has been part of everything I've ever been fortunate enough to achieve. Steve Reeves was an inspiration to me and will continue to be part of all of our futures.
The world has lost more than a man, they have lost a true hero.
