You can ask Google Assistant to find your family and show them on the map.
For example, you can ask:
- Where’s my family?
- Note: If you use Google Location Sharing, you'll need to create a family on Google before this command will work.
- Where’s everyone?
- Where is Andrew?
- Where’s my brother?
Important:
- Some features won't work for Google Accounts for children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country).
- Not all commands work for all providers and may work differently for different providers.
What you need
To find your family, you can use Google Location Sharing or a third-party provider, like Life360. If you use a third-party provider app, their policy applies.
To find your family with Google Assistant, you need:
- Family members to share their location with you either:
- On Google Maps, with Google Location Sharing. Learn how to share your real-time location.
Or - By linking a third-party location sharing app.
- On Google Maps, with Google Location Sharing. Learn how to share your real-time location.
- If you use a speaker or Smart Display, Voice Match turned on. Learn how to link your voice to your devices.
Choose a family service provider
The first time you ask Google Assistant where your family is, your preferred provider will be saved as your default. To change your default service provider, you can say something like:
- “Where is [contact name] on Google location sharing?”
- “Where is Justin on [service provider]?”
- “Where is Andrew on Google location sharing?”
- “Where is my family on [service provider]?”
Unlink your family service provider
If you use a third-party provider, you can link and unlink that provider.
- On your Android phone or tablet, go to linked accounts.
- Next to a provider, tap Unlink.
Ask about your family's location
If you use Google Location Sharing to find your family, you can use their names as listed in your Google Location Sharing settings to find their location.
You can also find a family member’s location by:
- Contact name: The family member must be saved in your Google contacts and you must have contact info from your device turned on.
- Relationship: To add a relationship to a contact, just say “Hey Google, my sister’s name is Susan.”
